A lost day

Somber, forlorn and incomplete. Those are three words which summed up the feeling of leaving the Parliamentary Estate today.

Jo Cox – a mother; a wife; and inspirational to many was sadly taken away from us. In the wake of the EU Referendum next week, it is terrifying to see the extent to which members of the public have gone a little off the rails.

Another thing I will draw upon is the little respect members of the public have for Members of Parliament. I think this should stand as testament to the hard work our MPs put in to making this world a better place for us.

In my time working at Parliament, there has been the Most uplifting day- during the Queen’s annual visit to Parliament, and for me – today marked a broke day. Something which will be difficult to forget and a reminder of the work that needs to be done.
